On a five-vergée site in a country lane in the parish of Grouville, Belles Fleurs Nursery packs a great deal into a small place.
The nursery grows a variety of plants including summer and winter bedding plants, herbaceous, perennials and a wide range of shrubs grown on site in specialised tunnels and greenhouses covering 17,000 sq ft to make the most of Jersey’s favourable growing climate for all-year-round production.
Belles Fleurs specialises in bedding plants, hanging baskets and container displays and delivers a range of services and goods for garden contractors and the general public. The nursery has built up a first-class reputation for hanging baskets, which can be seen around the Island outside parish halls, pubs, shops, offices and private homes.
The nursery in Rue au Blancq is owned and run by Bernard and Martine Rebours. The business was founded in 1972 by Martine's mother and father, Aimé and Rozita Vâtel, and bought by Bernard and Martine in 1987.
Now in its fifth decade of trading, Belles Fleurs is still very much a Jersey family business with knowledgeable and friendly staff members who are always willing to help and to offer their assistance and advice.
Belles Fleurs is a member of Genuine Jersey and Bernard is enthusiastic about the organisation as his customers are now frequently asking for locally produced products.
